On March 28th, 2025 James Doggett Price passed at age 86. Jim married Charlotte Bolles and she immediately became the stepmother to his four children: Stacy Wright (Kevin); Lori Zoller (Dave); Amy Beck (Kevin); Jay Price (Cindy). Jim and Charlotte enjoyed bragging that they had ELEVEN grandsons, a great granddaughter and great grandson. Jim and Charlotte also cherished time with his sister Joanne’s five children and their families.
He was a blessing to all that knew him because he had a wonderful ability to make others feel cherished and valued. His philosophy for life was simple: “Maintain the Balance” … Spiritual, Mental, Social and Physical.
As the children were growing up Jim loved family traditions such as: singing in the car, creeking, Christmas parties, rock collecting in lake Michigan, family vacations, cheering on favorite teams (University of Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue), contentious sports brackets, Daughter Dad’s Day Luncheon with just the three daughters and daughter-in-law. These memories will forever be etched in our minds and his dedication to family will forever be in our hearts.
Jim was born on August 8th, 1938 in Logansport, IN to late Wayne and Josephine Price. He was proceeded in death by his sister Joanne Gordon, brother-in-law George Gordon, and brother John Price who died serving his country in the Korean War.
After graduating from Logansport High, he attended his father’s alma mater, Wabash College where he played basketball. Jim retired from Wells Fargo after working as a financial advisor 55 years for the same company as it went through different acquisitions. He was a generous beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa.
When Jim married Charlotte, he became part of the larger Bolles family as a beloved brother-in-law and uncle. He loved sharing his “rock house” with his nieces and nephews. He also participated in the NFL football pick’em pool with both the Bolles and Price families.
Our hearts are full of joy for knowing him. He leaves behind a world made better by his presence and an example of how to live a life full of love, charity, and purpose.
A memorial service for James will take place Friday, May 2, 2025 at 2PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. A visitation will take place an hour prior.
