Jane was passionate about the family and friends she held dear to her heart. Her creative spirit, bright smile, and gracious presence were just a few of her many lovely attributes. Jane was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 12, 1944, to Edna Cecilia (Barrett) Clark and David Joseph Clark. She is survived by her four siblings with whom she loved to laugh and reminisce, Joan Bolden, Rita Keckler, David Clark, and Mary Beth Tryon. Jane attended Christ The King grade school and graduated from Scecina High School where she was voted by her senior year classmates to be the “Harvest Festival Queen.” After high school, she employed her hard work and artistic talents at an orthodontist's lab managing models and bending wires to perfect the smiles of the patients she served.
Jane married Bill Drew on January 10, 1967. After her first of four children was born, she devoted her time to nurturing her growing family and supporting her husband. She volunteered at Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Pius X grade schools and then Cathedral High School and Bishop Chatard High School. Her contributions of handmade items for the auctions always brought excitement to the event, acknowledgement from her peers, and a high winning bid. Jane supported Bill in pursuing and establishing business interests and together they contributed to organizations that serve the less fortunate such as, The Wheeler Mission, Gleaner Food Bank, St. Vincent DePaul, Little Sisters of the Poor, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, and others. Jane’s legacy will continue to support Marian University’s School of Nursing, Medical School, and Klipsch Educator’s College, where she received a doctorate degree on May 6, 2017.
Jane and Bill have been blessed with wonderful friendships in both Indianapolis, IN and Bonita Springs, FL. Jane was a treasured friend, and the family is thankful for the love and support of all who have shared in her journey.
Family truly was Jane’s proudest accomplishment. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she will continue to be loved, honored and cherished by her immediate family and extended family members, including Bill’s seven brothers and sisters, their children, and grandchildren. Jane opened her home and heart to all and has been affectionately referenced as the “glue” that keeps us all together.
May Jane rest in peace. She has beautifully served as God’s humble servant. May she be lifted on “Eagle’s Wings” to see her son, David, and may she be gently held in the palm of God’s hands.
