Joan Mary Market

Joan M. Market, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Mary (Kopp) Haubner. Joan's faith was very important to her and she was a longtime member of Christ The King Catholic Church. Her family was center in Joan's life and she loved to travel, Bowl, dine out, Fish, her Casino visits, Cubs Baseball, Bears Football and Purdue sports.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband Henry Reader; her second husband Harold Market; her sister Joyce Stramaglia; and her step-daughter, Shirley Gagne.

Joan is survived by her sons, Larry Reader and his wife Betty, Richard Reader and his wife Michelle; step-daughter, Mary Weymouth; grandchildren, Kimberley Ricksecker and her husband Brendan, Elizabeth Antonelli; Kristen Haag and her husband Tim and Rebeckah Chenoweth and her husband Josh; and great grandchildren, Dorothy and Pearl Chenoweth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation 1 hour prior to Mass all at Christ The King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Avenue, Indianapolis 46220.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
