Kathryn S. Grimes

Kathy Grimes, beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 70. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents John and Mayre Petrovich, beloved husband Thomas Grimes, and brother-in-law Brian Svetanoff. She is survived by her brother Patrick (Jane) Petrovich, sister Jeannine Svetanoff, niece John (Loretta) Davidson and family, nephew Patrich J. Petrovich, niece Rachel Svetanoff, nephew Ryan Svetanoff, and stepchildren William Grimes and Kathleen Grimes.

Born on June 8, 1954, Kathy graduated from Andrean High School class of 1972. She received her Associate’s degree as a Paralegal from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan in 1975. She later went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from Indiana University, graduating in 1983. Kathy built a distinguished career with the United States Bankruptcy Court, first in Gary, Indiana and later in Indianapolis’ Southern Division where she was a case administrator/supervisor for over 20 years.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathy was an avid quilter, cozy mystery bookworm, a loyal bingo enthusiast, and spent joyful years tending a hosta farm and caring for her spritely pets with her husband Tom in Sheridan, Indiana. Her love of travel took her all over Europe, Canada, and the United States with family and friends. Kathy’s creativity and love of nature were evident in all that she did.

Kathy’s life was marked by a deep love for her family, friends, co-workers, her many cats – Mickey Dundee, KoKo, Ouija, Grey Girl, and her dog, Max. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
