LouAnne Lindemann, 87, a treasured wife and mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 1, 2024. LouAnne was born on the Southside of Indianapolis, where she met the love of her life, Donald L Lindemann, and they attended Manual High School.
LouAnne supported Don in his desire to graduate from Harvard University with a Master's in Business Administration. With two young children in tow, she joined him in fulfilling his dream. Their love for each other showed no bounds.
In the late 1960s, they returned to Indianapolis. Don worked at Citizens Gas & Coke Utility as President, Chief Executive Officer, and General Manager of Citizens until 1998, when he retired.
Not only was LouAnne a loving spouse and mother, but she was also a beloved educator at Delaware Trails Elementary in Indianapolis during the late 1960s and 1970s. Many were grateful to be her students, and those who did not have the opportunity to be in her classroom wished they had been! She educated countless students, and her teachings live on in her past students.
LouAnne loved antiques and owned an antique shop with her daughter, Dawn. She was an avid tennis player and traveled with her friends to play in tennis tournaments.
LouAnne is survived by Jenny and Sarah (her faithful Brittany Spaniels), half-brother Mark Kafader (Lisa,) and half-sister Brenda Foster. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald L Lindemann, son Brad Lindemann, daughter Dawn Lindemann, grandson Daniel Lindemann, who was her joy, and her parents Ernest Nerge and Catherine Lepper Kafader.
Many thanks to Becky VanRooy, Missy Wilson, Senior1Care, Paradigm Health, Aging Life Care Consultants, Hooverwood Living, and Grand Brook for their special care toward LouAnne over recent years.
