Marilyn F. Karnatz, age 75, died peacefully on March 29, 2021 after a brief illness.
Marilyn was born on May 10, 1945 in Indianapolis to Margaret Gaa Karnatz and Frank Karnatz. She graduated from St Agnes Academy, Indianapolis, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History from University of Dayton.
She was a Trust Officer at Peoples Bank where she administered estates and trusts for a number of years here in Indianapolis and then was a specialist at Wallington Asset Management, Indianapolis until she retired.
Marilyn was a proud member of the Altrusa International of Indianapolis for 38 years where she served on several committees and was the Club Treasurer many times. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Altrusa Foundation of Indianapolis.
She enjoyed volunteering at St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in her retirement years.
Marilyn was a member of the St Augustine Guild for 21 years until she died. She helped in the ‘Little Store’ at St Augustine Home for the Little Sisters of the Poor. She also worked on the Bingo Committee for the Little Sisters each year and made the rounds to get collections with other Bingo Babe’s for their annual fund raiser.
Marilyn was a life long member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she served on several committees including gardening, and church decorating over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1827 Kessler Blvd., E Drive, Indianapolis, on Wednesday, April 7th @ 11:00AM. Calling will be one hour prior to the 11AM Mass from 10AM - 11AM in the church.
Marilyn is survived by cousins Lee Beckman, Nancy Beckman, Jim Gaa, John Gaa, Tom Gaa and their families, of California, Texas, and Canada.
Marilyn was especially grateful to her Alliance ‘angels’ Cheryl, Sandra, Jackie and Victoria for their loving care over the past few years.
