Marjorie Ann Moore

Marjorie Ann “Marjie” (Donahue) Moore, 88, went to Heaven on December 21st, 2025. Marjie was born in Lafayette, IN on July 17, 1937, to Dr. Everett and Wilma Donahue. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School and graduated from Indiana University.

Marjie married the love of her life, Dr. Donald C. Moore in 1961. They were happily married for 53 years before he passed away in 2015.

Our mom was the sweetest, most caring and selfless person. She raised six children and ran our parent’s medical billing company for many years after starting her career as an elementary school teacher. Through it all, we never heard our mom raise her voice a single time. She felt her intended message was lost within the noise.

One of the clearest examples of our mom’s strength and patience came when our dad was drafted to serve in Vietnam. At the time, she had 3 young boys under the age of four and was pregnant with her only daughter Anne. She delivered Anne and cared for the boys until dad came home after 11 months away.

Columbus, Indiana, was home for our family. Our parents led a rich, fun-filled life with their friends, often playing golf, cheering on IU sports, or hosting nice dinner parties. They loved Columbus and the life they built there.

Our parents also loved spending summers and Christmases on Walloon Lake in Petoskey, Michigan. There, they enjoyed boating, golfing, family cookouts, or simply sitting on the end of the dock taking in the view. They formed dear, lifelong, friendships at the lake.

Our mom developed dementia in her final years but stayed incredibly gracious and loving. When we visited her, we’d ask “How are you?” and she would always say I’m good! When asked if there was anything we could get her, she would say I have all I need, Just Your Love! Such a great reminder of what’s important.

Our mom was a devout Catholic, who shared her faith through her quiet warmth and love for everyone she met. We will miss her very much but are so glad she is in Heaven with our dad and her other family and dear friends.

God bless Marjie Moore. She provided all who knew her a wonderful example of how to live a meaningful life.

Marjie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, and her brother Patrick Donahue. She is survived by her children Vint (Marcie) Moore, Bryan (Nancy) Moore, Todd (Terri) Moore, Anne (Chad) O’Neill, Don (Cara) Moore, David (Robin) Moore and her grandchildren Logan, John, Mary, Jack, Matthew, Katy, Katherine, Charles, Ben and Max as well as her sister Kate Mullen.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus, Indiana or to St Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey, Michigan.
