

He grew up in Griffin, Georgia with parents Glenn and Helen Bryant. He was a graduate of Griffin High School. He received the 'God and Country Award' as an Eagle Scout. Mike attended Auburn University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
Mike graduated from Georgia State University in Business. He continued graduate studies at the Wharton School of Business. Mike’s professional career with Altec Industries spanned over 35 years. He retired as a Senior Vice President and the head of World Wide.
Mike and Nancy retired to Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. He was a volunteer fireman and fire commissioner for Beaufort County. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends crabbing, fishing, and boating at his beloved “fish camp”.
Mike had a love of the Rocky Mountains. He spent many years backpacking, hiking, and skiing out west. He also enjoyed professionally guided fishing tours in Florida and Mexico.
Mike spent his retirement years between his homes on Daufuskie Island and Highlands, North Carolina. He finally settled near his children in Indianapolis where he passed away.
Mike is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Brooks Bryant of Brunswick, Georgia; son Mike Bryant Jr. (Alison), daughter, Helen Hyde (Chris) and youngest daughter Virginia Bryant; grandchildren: Jon Bryant III, Will Bryant, JP Duke, Georgia Duke, and Brooks Gradison.
Service will be held on January 31, 2026 at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN Visitation: 12:00 pm, Service: 1:00 pm
