

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Foster of Carmel, Indiana. She passed away on Saturday morning November 1, 2025. She was a loving wife, devoted mother of four and friend to so many. Pat will be remembered as a warm and caring woman, with a generous and fun filled spirit and with helping hands that served so many.
She was born on October 20, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Harold D. Hughes and Lucille R. Hughes. Born and raised in Tulsa she then continued on to attend the University of Oklahoma where she met her husband Tom Foster. They together raised and loved four children, Chet, Scott and Sara (twins) and Linda.
Pat was actively involved at Zionsville Presbyterian Church. She was passionate about helping with the decorating of the church for various activities and events. She also was a seamstress for Loose Threads where she helped to make blankets for the homeless. Through the years she participated in Bible Study Fellowship and taught Sunday school. She was part of a Sunday Night Bible Study (SNIBS) and a bridge club for many, many years, where she made lifelong friends.
Pat was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, entertaining, flower arranging and especially painting. She could throw an amazing party and set a beautiful table. In addition she was a florist at McNamara in Carmel while also raising her children. Pat enjoyed time alongside her husband Tom, in Naples, Florida in the winter months and in Belgrade Lakes Maine in the summer months. Tom and Pat had a love for Belgrade that is immeasurable. A home away from home.
Mostly Pat will be remembered by her strong faith and her steadfast love for Jesus. Her faith was apparent in everything she did, especially how she loved and served others so well. Her family will be forever grateful that she passed down the gift of an unwavering faith.
Pat is survived by her son Chester Daniel Foster (wife - Angie), daughter Sara Ann Pliske (husband - Tim), daughter Linda Sue Shafer and grandchildren Scott and Leah Foster, Megan Pliske Dwyer (Husband - Chris), Nathan and Ben Pliske, Hannah and Levi Shafer and great-grandchild Charlie Thomas Dwyer (Pliske) and sister Paula Goree. She is preceded in death by son Scott Foster and husband Thomas Ballard Foster.
Pat will be laid to rest alongside her husband and son in Belgrade, Maine at Pine Forest Cemetery.
Family and friends will celebrate her life on Monday November 10, 2025 at Zionsville Presbyterian Church at 11:00 Visitation will be held at Leppert Mortuary Nora Chapel on Sunday November 9 from 2:00 - 4:00.
