Richard L. Lewandowski, the only child of Lawrence Lewandowski and Berenice Edwards, was born on August 16, 1946 and passed away on July 28, 2025. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Jim Edwards and his beloved wife, Patricia (Behan) Lewandowski. He and Patricia were the loving parents of Laurie (Brian) McQueen of Indianapolis, IN and Michael (Crystal) Lewandowski of Montague, MA; and the cherished grandparents of Kayla, Asha, Caden and Maeve. Richard later remarried and was also preceded in death by his second wife Mary (Rocco) Lewandowski. Born in Chicago, Illinois he also held residence in Texas, Missouri, Connecticut, Florida, and most recently, Indiana.
Richard graduated from William Howard Taft High School in 1964. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his master degree from University of Illinois, both in Electrical Engineering.
He held various engineering management positions at companies including: Texas Instruments, Emerson Electric, Northrop Grumman, and ended his career at Kaman Corporation where he worked on defense systems for many projects including Black Hawk helicopters.
Richard was a true man of the Catholic faith who deeply treasured his family. He found pleasure in photography, skiing, wood working, cars, model building and always had a soft spot for the family dog.
Richard’s final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
