Ronald J. Hellmer, 81, of Noblesville, Indiana, departed this life on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Ron was born in Indianapolis on October 25, 1943. He was a graduate of Speedway High School then served his country in the United States Navy for three years of active duty and four years of reserve duty. While in the Navy, he served aboard the USS Long Beach, a nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser.
Ron started his own business, R.J. Hellmer Sales, Inc., and spent his career selling women’s apparel to department stores and small boutiques. Upon retirement, he was a familiar face at Riverview Hospital where he volunteered many hours helping those in need.
Ron enjoyed nothing more than a day of golf with his longtime friends and golfing buddies. He also loved following and cheering for his New York Yankees.
Ron is survived by his life companion of 30 years, Brenda Bathrick; sister, Judy (Larry) Jones; nieces, Tracee Buckrop and Emily Jones; nephew, Keith Jones; great-niece, Abby Buckrop; half-sister, Nancy (Craig) Copeman and half-brother Joe (Toni) Hellmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen Garrison and Joseph Hellmer.
A private military committal service will be held at Crown Hill Columbarium Annex.
