Al was born in Inverness on January 11th,1932 to the late Jim Dan and Mamie MacEachern.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette; son, Mark; brothers, John and Norman; sisters, Mary Catherine (M.C.) and Kathleen (Lena).
He leaves behind his children, Claire (Peter) Glenn (Vikki); and sister, Winnie; as well as grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Sarah, James, Liam, Carl, Sally, Emily and Luke; great-grandchildren, Emma Sara and Sadie; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
His nickname “Pone” was given to him by his brother John, short for Al Capone.
Al spent his working life operating machinery working construction and with the Department of Transportation.
He was a man of strength and honor, with a deep faith in God and love for his family.
He was devoted to “his bride" throughout her long illness. But they were that way to each other all of their lives.
Al said that from the moment he saw Jeanette, he knew she was the one for him.
He spent the last number of years in Inverary Manor where he participated in all activities.
He greeted everyone with “Hello Beautiful”
The family cannot begin to thank the entire staff for the care compassion and love he received there.
Visitation will take place in Stella Maris Church, Inverness on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 from 10-10:45 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am.
