On the afternoon of July 5th, 2025, our beautiful Bea passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Beatrice Elizabeth Delaney (née MacQuarrie) was the youngest daughter of the late Allister MacQuarrie and his wife Mary (Smith) MacQuarrie. Born and raised in Inverness, Bea brought light, laughter, and warmth wherever she went. She had a gift for finding joy in the simple things: family dinners, long chats with friends, and always greeting everyone with her radiant smile and open heart.
In 2022, Bea was diagnosed with ALS. True to her nature, she faced this journey with extraordinary strength, grace, and resilience. Even in her most challenging days, she remained courageous, kind, and full of love.
For 29 years, she was devoted to the love of her life, Gary. Together, they created a home filled with music, laughter, and unconditional love. A home where everyone felt welcome. She was the proudest mom to her children, Taylor Jensen and Ali Wayne, and adored her beloved dogs: Marni Moo, Dolly, and Waylon. She is now reunited with her cherished Maggie Mae.
Bea leaves behind her loving husband, Gary; children, Taylor (Jacob) and Ali (Keely); her beloved mother, Mary; siblings Ann (Jimmy) Copley, Lewis (Tereasa), Kathleen, and Dougie (Jolene), all of Inverness; and Gary’s siblings Brenda (Danny) St. John, Karen (John) Hawco, and Dougie (Paulette) Delaney. She was also deeply loved by many nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
She was also predeceased by her nephew, Desmond MacQuarrie; as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Norma Delaney, who received her with warmth and kindness into their family.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Mary Anderson, Dr. Suzie Egar, Dr. Ritter, Continuing and Palliative Care teams, and the many nurses and staff who cared for Bea with such compassion. To the community near and far, thank you for walking this road with us. Your love and support have meant everything.
Bea’s spirit lives on in all who were lucky enough to know her. She was a light in this world, and she leaves behind a legacy of strength, joy, and endless love.
