

MacDonald, Catherine 'Kay' Isabel Age 83, West Mabou, passed away peacefully in Inverary Manor, Inverness, on Friday, August 26, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Glencoe (River Center) on June 20, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Moran) MacLeod. Kay was a member of St Mary's Parish, Mabou .Kay was a person who lived for her family.She always made sure everyone was taken care of the best way possible.
Mom loved her flower garden and could always be seen in the middle of the garden planting something or pulling weeds. There was never a time either when someone would leave her home in West Mabou without a good cup of tea and a plate of sweets. Mom greeted everyone that came to the door with a beautiful smile and "Come on in" welcome.
. Mom will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Kay is survived by her children, John Joseph (Brenda), Leduc, Alta.; Mary Elizabeth (Chris), Windsor, Ont.; Charles Patrick (Colleen), Fort Nelson, B.C.; Ann Ellen (Angus), Little Judique. She was a beloved grandmother to Liam, Deneah, Robert, Melanie, Gregory, Margaret, and Joseph. She is also survived by brother, John Richard MacLeod, Inverness and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert MacDonald, brothers, Joseph MacLeod, Donald MacLeod and sisters, Flora MacDonald and Mary Jessie Mac Quarrie. Visitation was held in the vestry of St. Mary's Church, Mabou, on Monday, August 29 from 7 - 9pm and Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday at 11 a.m from St. Mary's Church, Mabou with Fr. Angus Morris and Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial was in the Mabou Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations was made to the Central Inverness Pallative Care Society, Canadian Cancer Society, St. Mary's Cemetery Fund or to Mother of Sorrow Shrine, Mabou.
