It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing at Inverary Manor in Inverness, of our dearly loved Mom, Nana, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Christine(Tootsie) Delrosa Mac Isaac on January 31, 2022. She now joins her love of her life husband-Donnie who passed away just on November 14, 2021 and beloved son, Sandy, who passed away on May 5, 1986. Mom hasn't been quite the same since Dad passed away so it is not a surprise that she couldn't live without him and they are once again back together.
Born in Inverness, Tootsie was a daughter of the late Hugh Hector Campbell and Jessie Ann(Gillis) Campbell. She was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, Broad Cove.
Tootsie grew up in Deepdale and when she met the love of her life, a new adventure began in Dunvegan which lasted 58 years with 6 kids! Mom was like a mother to many of our friends, cousins, and neighbours often giving a little bit of advice with open arms. She worked and enjoyed seasonal work at the Strathlorne Tree Nursery for many years but the most important job she loved most was raising of her family. Never was there a hot meal missed or the hot cereal(Cream of Wheat)she made for each and every one of us every morning and before school making sure we had a full belly to start school of on the right foot. Mom was a long-time supporter of Dad's other love is his life- the love of horses and horse racing and every Sunday when Dad had the horses loaded in the trailer to head to Inverness, she then rushed us to get ready to go to the races as, “I need to get there to bet on the Daily Double” often picking her favourite number 45 and then the number 258 once the Triactor betting was available in hopes of striking it big!
Tootsie enjoyed music, a game of cards, seeing people have a good time, hearing a good story, enjoying a good laugh, and especially a Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening on the grandstand at the Inverness Raceway. She loved to read the paper, in particular the Oran, play solitaire and complete crossword puzzles. The fall was always a busy time of year, as the vegetables she grew in her massive garden was then converted to delicious pickles to enjoy throughout the winter months and often enjoyed by others as she loved to share with family and friends.
Despite cognitive decline and some decrease in mobility in the last two years, she lived every day of her life to the fullest with an infectious smile on her face followed by a contagious laugh and a quick come back/wise crack to anyone who was up for a challenge. For the past two years, mom enjoyed living at the Manor-Harbour Lights Villa thanks to the amazing care, love, and attention she received from all of the staff, none of you will ever be forgotten. We are extremely grateful for every day of her life and will miss her enormously. She made our world a better place and she will live forever in our hearts. To know Tootsie was to love her! We know she will be welcomed in heaven by a few special people that have gone before her and are waiting patiently for her arrival to start the music.
Tootsie is survived by her loving family, children, Donna (Pat), Campbell, Ann Marie (Lyle), Myrna (Paul), Carolyn (Herb); grandchildren, Nicholas, Brianna, Ben, Angus, Bridget, Sean, Callum and Liam; brother Leonard(Cathy), sister Cookie(Tommy) sisters- in- law Effie(Jimmy-deceased), Anne(Albert), brothers- in- law John Dan(Sandra), Archie(Joan), Francis(Lois).
