It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Connie, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She left us peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Formally of Pleasant Bay, she lived in South Harbour for a number of years where she worked as a post mistress. She later moved to Inverness, where she fell in love with the town, the beaches and the people, making many friends along the way. Connie enjoyed reading and loved the flowers and birdfeeders that surrounded her home. She attended Saint Mary's University and Nova Scotia Community College. Connie had a diverse number of positions during her working life. She worked as a waitress, teachers aid, lab assistant at ICMH and also at The Oran, where she coined the phrase, "Sunset Side of The Island". Connie, along with Father Currie were instrumental in the development and start up of the Inverness Food Bank. What Connie cherished most were family and friends, grandchildren, Chester, Haley, Casey, Sage, Liam, Simon and 1 darling soon to be here, were her greatest joy.
She is survived by her sons, Sheldon (Jennifer) Daisley, Aaron (April MacDonald) and Shamus, and their father, Daniel "Sonny" Walker; brothers, George (Wendy) Fraser, Kevin (Karen) Moore; sisters, Marion (Dougald) Moore-MacEachern, Terry (Lenny) Moore-Beaton, Colleen (Charles) Beaton, Murdell Moore (Jim Murray), many nieces and nephews.
Connie is predeceased by her parents, Percy (Marcella Fraser) Moore; former husband, Douglas Daisley; sister, Danena; brothers, Sheldon, John and Hector; adopted daughter, Candy (Daisley) Fraser. Respecting Connie's wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Silvia, Dr Ritter and Laurie Ann, Melinda, Melissa and Haley, and all the Palliative Care team, who helped her on her journey to peace.
