Donald Conson was born on November 1, 1926. He was the son of the late Constantine and Christina MacDonald.
He lived at the old homestead in Little Judique Ponds where he worked as a bus driver but his passion in life was when he was with his beloved horses. He owned, raised, trained and drove horses in Windsor, Ontario and Cape Breton. Donald created Shore Road Stables on Joe Effie Rd in Little Judique Ponds where his horses and others won numerous races in the Maritimes and the United States.
Donald will be missed by his family and community of which he was a much-loved member. A testament to this is that both his late nephew, Michael and then his niece, Janet did not hesitate to move into the homestead to allow their beloved Uncle to spend his remaining days at home.
Donald is predeceased by his siblings, Mary Jane Gillis, Katherine MacDougall, Margaret McManus, Euphemia MacDonald, Janet Taylor [Jean], and his nephew Michael McManus. He is survived by his adored nieces, nephews' and their children.
Visitation for Donald will be held in the Port Hood and Area Resting Place on Sunday, April 17, 2016, 2-4 pm & 7-9pm. Funeral mass services will be held in St. Peter's Church, Port Hood, Monday, April 18, 2016, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Port Hood Volunteer Fire Dept. or to or to the Irish Road Horseman's Club. Port Hood.
