Joey passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving partner, Margaret Hunt, family members and compassionate nurses.
He will be greeted in Eternal Life by his devoted mother, Mary Belle MacInnis, who predeceased him.
A plumber by trade, Joey lived most of his life in Inverness, enjoying his many friends and horse racing, which was his passion. He was always ready and willing to assist the horsemen, the fisherman, in fact anyone in town who needed his help.
In the last years, Joey suffered failing health and was forced to give up the outdoor activities that he loved; fishing the local rivers and brooks, hunting in his favorite spots and skidooing.
Visitation to be held in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove on Friday May 2, 2025 from 10:15 - 10:45am with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery, Inverness.
Memorial donations may be made to the Inverness Food Bank, Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to a charity of one's choice.
