Ferdinand "Fern" Foch MacNeil

It is with sadness that we, the family of Ferdinand Foch MacNeil announce his passing on August 29, 2018 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.

Fern was born June 11, 1943. He was the youngest son of the late John Colin and Janet MacDonald-MacNeil (of Inverness).

He was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. Fern was employed by Stora Forest Industries for many years.

Friends and family of Fern’s could always count on a cup of tea when they visited.

A special thanks to Dr. Ritter, Dr. Egar, LoriAnn MacDonald and the staff of the Inverness Hospital for their kindness and support.

Fern is survived by his wife Emeryne; brother, Ainslie; sister-in-law, Charlene (Tim Foley); brothers-in-law, Darryl (Ferne Hart), Derwyn Hart; first cousin, May MacNeil; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by sisters, Bridget and Mary Catherine (in infancy), Lorraine (Stan), Rita (Jackie); brothers Donald, Francis, Gerald and Douglas.

Fern will rest in Inverness Funeral Home on Friday, August 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held in Stella Maris Church, Inverness on Saturday, September 1st at 11 a.m. with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society and Inverness Food Bank.
