Freda Ann Macdonald

She will be dearly missed by all who came to knew her.

Freda was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, on August 2, 1947 to the late Donald (Freddie Dan) and Catherine Macdonald. Freda was blessed with four children, Catherine (Kit) Vance (deceased), Donald Vance (Ale) of New Glasgow, Frank Leonard Vance (deceased) and Connie Camus (Aurel) of Calgary.

She also leaves behind her brother, Frank Macdonald (Virginia) of Inverness; sister, Jackie Kelock of Calgary; and her two honorary sisters, Becky Clarke (Issac) of New Glasgow and Marion Sorako (Jeff) of Saskatchewan.

Her grandchildren: Lindsay Vance, Johnathon Vance, Shelby Camus (Serge), Mandy Camus, Benjamin Vance and Georgie Vance, along with her great grandchildren: Amber, Jensen, Elena, Maya, Jesse, Catherine, Brandon (deceased). Freda is also predeceased by her longtime partner and friend Jerome Poirier.

Freda’s second love was her profession in hair dressing, which she did for over 50 years. She cherished her many clients and all the laughs they had shared. Freda also was an avid quilter, which many of her family and friends will treasure for years to come.

Visitation will be held in Stella Maris Church, Inverness on Thursday, August 4 from 10-10:45 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Tshimbalanga officiating, burial to take place at a later date.

There will be a reception to follow at the Inverness Fire Hall.
