With broken hearts, we announce the sudden death of Gordie Gillis who passed away suddenly at home on February 1st at the age of 59.
Gordie was the son of (Red) John and Catherine (CB) Gillis of Hawthorne Rd, Port Hood.
Gordie leaves behind his partner, Doreen; his children, Vanessa (Blaze), Colton, Dawson (Amber), Riley and Sierra. Gordie was a Poppa to four grandchildren, Jerzee, Jazmyn, Jaylah and Tiana; whom he loved with all his heart.
Gordie worked at Port Hawkesbury Paper Mill for 44 years. He started working there as a Stevedore as a teenager.
In his spare time you would find him with his family, dogs or in the woods of Hawthorne.
Gordie will be missed dearly by his loving family and many friends.
There will be a celebration of life at Glencoe Station Hall on Saturday, February 8th from 3 PM to 7 PM. A private funeral and burial for family and close friends will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations in memory of Gordie may be made to a charity of one's choice.
