Son of the late Vincent and Veronica Deagle.
Joseph Alexander Deagle aka "Digger Deagle" also known as "Jody Bird", born February 7th, 1951, passed away peacefully in Cape Breton Regional Hospital at 74 years old on June 13th, 2025.
Jody "Bird" lived a simple life in Inverness with his then wife, Kathleen Timmons, and his children, Aaron,
Alicia and Kayla. He was a huge fan of hockey and played his heart out in his early years and loved a good game of darts at the Knights of Columbus where he was in a league for many years. Cribbage, 45 and Poker were also amongst his hobbies. Jody was well known around the community and could always be found with a smile on his face.
He is survived by his 4 sisters, Darlene Rosie, Junie, Audrey; and older brother, Angus; his partner in crime Booga Vincy, who is also deceased. His happiest moments were with his family. He loved watching movies, especially Disney, the titanic and horror movies. He loved meeting new people and spending time with his grandchildren William, Marley and Jack. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He will truly be missed. Go Leafs go!
A graveside service will be held in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery, Inverness for family and friends at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025. Reception to follow downstairs in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 132, Inverness.
