Arthur’s career as a sheet metal worker took him many places across Canada. After years of working Arthur retired enjoying his many hobbies. He had a green thumb! He was known for his beautiful garden and Orchard.
Arthur took pride in redoing his parent’s family home where he raised his own family. He loved his "toy" saw mill, sawing lumber for many different projects around his property. He took joy in building oyster cages for his son.
Arthur could be seen sitting on the deck doing his cryptogram , reading the Oran, or having a shot with good company. Many who drove by had a big wave for Art, a honk of the horn or stopped in to chat.
Arthur was known to live life in the present and take on each day like it was his last. He was known to be a humble, genuine, loving man. He didn't need the luxuries of life to be happy. He always appreciated the important things he had around him, especially his family. He set the standards high of what it was to be a husband, father, son, Poppa, brother and friend.
He could lighten up any situation happily with his witty humor and smirk that many will never forget. Arthur’s aunt once said "the world would be a better place if everyone was like Arthur".
During Arthur’s battle with cancer he taught us the power of positivity and determination. When the Doctor gave Arthur his final report he replied with " what will be, will be". This gave his family strength and acceptance during his finals days. Arthur may be gone but has left a great impact with his family and friends as they continue on to share his memories.
