O'connor, Lloyd Bernard - 72, We regret to announce the death of Lloyd B. O'Connor who passed away in Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Lloyd was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Jane O'Connor. He worked as a snowplow operator for the Department of Highways in Inverness before his retirement in 2003. Lloyd was a gentle, loving man who enjoyed the outdoors, and his cats. He enjoyed a good joke with friends and a wee dram of rum. He is survived by his son, George; wife, Isabel; sisters, Martha, Kay, Bonnie, Pat, Josephine and Betty; brothers, John, Charles, Gordon and Gerald; his granddaughters, Crystal and Lindsay, many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his daughter, Elaine; sister, Mary and brother, George. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 25, in Inverness Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 26 in Stella Maris Church with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Cremation has taken place and a burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital and Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Lloyd.
