Loretta Sarah Ross

Ross, Loretta Sarah- It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Loretta Sarah Ross of Margaree Valley at the age of 89. She passed away on November 6, 2015 in Inverary Manor which was her home the past two years. She was the last surviving member of the immediate family, and was the daughter of the late Robert Burton and Laura (Young) Burton. She is survived by sons, Alex (Margaret), Allen (Barbara) of Margaree Valley; daughter, Betty Shaw, Baddeck; son, Leonard (Martine), Aidrie, Alberta; daughter, Joanne (Alex) Ayre, Westmount and son, Trevor (Kimberley) of Elmsdale. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary L. Burton of North East Margaree; Mary E. Burton of Antigonish, Mae (Cletus MacNeil), New Waterford; and Florence (Breton Ingraham), Port Hood; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald; infant daughter, Harriet, and infant granddaughter, Karen Ross; brothers, Johnny, Wlibert (Francis), Donald (Henrietta), Alex, Harold, Lawrence and infant brother Joseph; sisters, Mary MacNeil, Clara (James Hannigan), Georgina Doyle; sisters-in-law, Kathryn (Charles Burton), Rachel (Irvine LeLacheur), Olga (Tom Phillips). Visitation will be held in St. Patrick's Hall, North East Margaree on Wednesday, November 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with funeral on Thursday, November 12th at 11:00am in St. Patrick's Church, North East Margaree with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating, Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Inverary Manor Bus Fund, Inverness or St. Patrick's Roof Fund, North East Margaree.
