Margaret Catherine Hayes

Hayes, Margaret Catherine (Beaton) ‘Kathleen’- 60, of Port Hood, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Hospital on January 12, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 30, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Angus Dan and Jessie (MacPhee) Beaton. Kathleen was a member of the St. Peter’s Parish and Catholic Women’s League in Port Hood.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James Hayes; sister, Anne; brother, Neil; and brother-in-law, Alexander Beaton. She is survived by her sister Mary Catherine (Pat) Gillis, Lower Sackville; brothers, A.J. (Annie), Port Hood; Lawrence (Mary), Waltham, Mass.; sister-in-law, Mary Buchanan, Port Hood; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews who she loved and loved her dearly. Visitation will take place in Port Hood Resting Place on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Funeral will take place at St. Peter’s Parish on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11 am. Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
