

MacLean, Mary Christine-Age 75, loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Christine was born in Inverness on February 23, 1935, and was a daughter of the late Angus Leo and Jessie Bell (Gillis) Kennedy. Christine was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness, and was a lovely lady who touched many hearts. She always had a story to tell, a Gaelic phrase to share and lots of love to go around. Christine was also an avid bingo player who enjoyed picking at the bingo caller. She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Lyndon) MacDonald, Port Hood; Floyd, Cary, Curtis, Inverness; Jennifer (Collie) MacLeod, Leon, Fort McMurray; Raymond (Laura), Sydney; Derwin (Heather), Cole Harbour; Krista Kennedy (Derek), Port Hawkesbury; grandchild always by her side, John Tyler MacLean; brother, John Angus “Bibby” (Mary), Alliston, Ont.;
sisters, Jessie (Bernard) Cameron, Mabou; Leona (John) Shaw, Lake Ainslie; sister's in law, Helen (Chris) Basker, Ardyth (Lauchie) MacDonnell, Catherine (Late Raymond) MacLean, Pauline (late Donnie) Kennedy, Inverness; brother in law Mike (late Audrey) Shypit, Kelowna, B.C.; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Christine was predeceased by her loving husband, John Wendell; daughter, Audrey Stephanie; brothers John G MacIsaac, Daniel (D.M.) MacIsaac, Leo Kennedy; sisters, Belle (John Alex) Smith, Mary (Jack Lewis) MacLean, Neilena (Charles) MacArthur and Margaret Kennedy. A special thank you to neighbors, Angus L., Theresa and Marvin for there constant care and support. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the ICMH for there care and patience throughout the last two years. There are no words that can express the heartfelt feelings the family has for Dr. Bernie MacLean. His constant care for Christine will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating, Burial at a later date in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the IWK Halifax Center Foundation, Burn Care Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
