Clarence McDaniel (1949 - 2019) We the family, regret to announce with broken hearts, the passing of our dear Brother, Clarence McDaniel on Feb.4, 2019 of Burdett, Alt. Clarence was born in Brook Village, to Bill and Marie (Beaton) McDaniel on Aug. 25, 1949 Although he had spent most of his life as a hard rock miner from B.C. to nt., where ever he went, he made life-long friends. He never lost his love for the place of his birth. It was always a pleasure to have him come home with his mining stories and his larger than life personality. He was always playing jokes on any of the poor siblings who came across his path. It was hard for his Mom to keep her apron strings tied when he was around. We have so many fond memories of him. He finally settled in Burdett, Alta., a small community, where he met some wonderful friends who loved him and he was at peace. Clarence is survived by Colin McDaniel, Port Hood; Mary Claire (Charlie) MacDonald, Port Hood; Elizabeth (Wayne) Watson, Brookfield, N.S; Gerry (Cheryl) Port Hawkesbury, Francis (Anne Marie), Brook Village. He is also survived by his former wife Dolly McDaniel and his son Grant McDaniel, Port Hood, sons, Leonard McDaniel, The Pas, Man.; Ashley McDaniel and Chris McDaniel, Lloydminster, Sask; seven nieces and sixteen nephews Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Matt, Sam, Ronnie and sister in-law, Hughena McDaniel Visitation will be held in St. John the Baptist Church, Brook Village on Tuesday Feb, 12, from 12-1:45 with Funeral Mass to follow at 2 p.m., Fr. Dear Mary Clare and Charlie: Just want to tell you how sorry I am to hear of the loss of your two brothers. That is rather rare but at least they will be together. Hope all else is well for you.

Losing two loved ones from your family so close together would be very difficult. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to meet Clarence but did know Ronnie from years ago. The last time I saw him was at the Co-Op in Inverness and he had Francis and Anne Marie’s children with him. He was so proud to introduce them to me and I could tell he was very important to them as well. He was such a nice person, quiet but also had a sense of humour. To all the members of the McDaniel family I offer my heartfelt condolences on such a huge loss.

Please accept my condolences for this great loss. I'm sorry to say that I didn't know Clarence. I knew Ronnie years ago in Halifax. He used to stay with us (a house full of students from home) sometimes when he was on leave from the ship. My memories of him are very happy. I remember his laugh most of all and that he was always a gentleman.

I would like to express my condolences to Ron's family.
I am part of his Coast Guard family.
I was Captain on the CCGS Provo Wallis and Ron was one of the Quarter Masters. Ron was a gentile soul who was loved and respected by his shipmates.
Keep the wheel steady Ron and we will see you on the other side of the Bar.
