She was predeceased by her loving parents, Norma and Donald Mac Lean & survived by siblings, Lorraine, Donna, Darlene, Carol, Bill, Gordon, Harold, Brian, Brenton (deceased) George, Lauchie & Gary; countless niece's & nephew's, cousins, sister in laws & brother in laws.
Shirley was an Angel on loan from God, a bright light, a friend & most importantly the best “little” sister, daughter & aunt, one could ever hope for. She loved coffee, music, rug hooking, puzzles, magazines, lemon pie, bingo nights & most importantly, family. Shirley attended ICHS for a number of years then proceeded to work at the Inverness Cottage Workshop before retiring a few years ago. She was the epitome of love, kindness & compassion & exceeded many expectations. A heart so much bigger than herself, with arms always reaching for the biggest hug. She had the best sense of humour & famous for her one liners, like “Give me a break.” To say our hearts are broken is an understatement, but our love & memories for our beautiful, sweet girl will live on forever.
A very special thank you to George & Joanne Mac Lean for taking over Shirley’s care when our beloved mom passed. Thank you to the Inverness HealthCare Workers, RN Sarah Mac Dougall, Palliative Care Director Lori Ann, Dr. S Egar and Dr. J Ritter. Your kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made to the Central Inverness Palliative Care Society Of Cape Breton in Shirley’s name.
