

MacLennan Thomas Leonard, Timber Tom” age, 76, of Inverness, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Port Hastings on May 19, 1937, he was a son of the late Leonard Benjamin and Henrietta (MacQuarrie) MacLennan. Tom was a wonderful chef and was decorated for his service with a gold medal by the Queen Mother. Tom also liked to dance and have a good time listening to good old country music. He was known to have an answer for everything, was quick-witted and could be trusted by any and all who came to know him. Tom is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Kennedy), daughters, Maria (Gussie) MacPhail, Whycocomagh; Kim (Bernie) MacIntyre, Lower Sackville; sisters, Norma (Robert) Munro, Whycocomagh; Annie (George), Horton MacInnis, St. Peter’s; and Mary Floyd, Sussex, N.B.; stepson, Stephen (Shawnie) MacLeod, Inverness; grandchildren, Cory and Christinea, MacPhail and step-grandchildren, Connor, Breagh MacLeod and Holli McLean, Brett and Brady MacIntyre; several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his first wife, Alice (Parks); his brother, James and stepson, Iain. Visitation and funeral service will be held in St. Matthew’s United Church, Inverness, with burial in St. Matthew’s United Cemetery, Strathlorne at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Tom may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society, Inverness or to a charity of your choice.
