

Ernest “Ernie” Bevely Howell, 86, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Life Tabernacle Church with Rev. Wendell Elms, UPCI Texas District Secretary, Rev. Gene Holley, Jr., Pastor, Life Tabernacle Church, and son, Rev. Anthony Howell, Metro United Pentecostal Church of Tulsa, officiating. Interment will be held at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Visitation with family and friends will be held at the church prior to service from 10:00 AM to service time.
Ernie was born June 14, 1927 in Boise, Idaho to Ernest Daniel and Cleo Mable (Holman) Howell. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree of Theology from the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota. He married Jean Evelyn (Graves) Howell on June 18, 1948 in Ontario, California. He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Wichita Falls. He worked in tax service for 50 years and was President of Howell Tax Service for 29 years. He also owned and operated Summer Snoball for 20 years.
Ernie is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Alfred and Orin Wayne Howell; and one great grandchild, Sachiko Grace Howell.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Jean Evelyn Howell of Wichita Falls; five children, Pamla Jean Garfinkle and husband, William of Hollywood, Florida; Daniel Ray Howell and wife, Nancy of Austin, Texas; Ernest Richard Howell of Arlington, Texas; John Wayne Howell and wife, Linda of Wichita Falls; and Anthony David Howell and wife, Karen of Depew, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
