Georgia spent her early years working as a nurse's aide before deciding to further her education. She returned to school to earn an associate's degree, which led to a fulfilling career as a substitute teacher for the San Angelo and Wichita Falls Independent School Districts.
She is survived by her daughters, Naomi Ratcliffe (James) and Sylvia Martin (Jack); and her sons, Clarence Farmer (Shedura), Mark Farmer, and Justin Vest (Marcy). Georgia is also remembered by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Ashley Farmer, and her parents, George Nathan Cook and Fernetta Cook.
A graveside service will be held in her honor at Fairview Cemetery, located on FM 1547, Memphis, Texas, 79245, US. The service is scheduled for February 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Georgia Fernetta Duffy will be remembered for her dedication to her work and her contributions to the community.
