Trudy Carolyn Shawver Cullers

Trudy Carolyn (Shawver) Cullers, of Iowa Park, went home to be with her Lord, her beloved parents and brothers on May 10, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Chaplain Paul Deluca of Hospice of Wichita Falls will be officiating.

A beloved daughter of the late Garvin and Odessa Shawver, Trudy was born on June 12, 1944. She was a member of the Faith Village Church of Christ. Trudy had a vibrant spirit and lived life to the fullest. She was a hairstylist for many years in Iowa Park before becoming a manager for Klinkerman Properties until her illness forced her into retirement. However, her favorite job was that of a mother. Trudy loved and nurtured her family with all of her heart.

Along with her beloved parents, Trudy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Mack, and Kent Shawver.

Trudy is survived by her daughters, Gayla Harrell and spouse, Larry Gibson; Cindy Smith and husband, Steve; Melissa Pleva Elliot; Carolyn Holder and husband, Mike. She is also survived by a special niece, Charmagne Kingcade and husband, Tim; a brother, Gene Shawver and wife Gladys. Trudy is also survived by her grandchildren, Gidgette Moyer, Joshua Smith, Jordan Pleva, Priscilla Pleva, and Adison Smith; six great grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to her wonderful caregiver and friend, Ruby Lester for loving Trudy as her own mother. They would also like to thank Hospice of Wichita Falls for their tireless care and support. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
