Willie Leon Brown

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Iowa Park Church of Christ, with Mr. Bill Lockwood, Minister, officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Dutton Funeral Home.

Leon was born February 8, 1937 in Olney, Texas, to Willie Lawrence and Neta Opal (Spain) Brown. He moved from Megargel, Texas to Iowa Park and attended Iowa Park schools through the 12th grade. He married Billie Ann Prickett on October 6, 1962. He served in the U.S. Army and the Naval Reserve and later owned and operated an oil well service. He also worked at Washex where he retired at age 62 as a supervisor for electrical components. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Carlton Brown, and a sister, Carol Ann Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Billie, of Iowa Park; children, Suzy Sam and husband, Lyndell, of Gardendale, Texas and Laura Lama and husband, Bobby, of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister, Delores Morgan, of Lewisville, Texas; and 3 grandchildren, Justin Dishman, Kinsi Lama and Landon Lama.

The family has suggested memorials to the Iowa Park Church of Christ.
