IRMO – A memorial service for Calvin David Milliken, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow St., Irmo, SC, 29063, with visitation to follow.
Calvin passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021.He was a son of the late Alva and Marie Milliken and was born January 1, 1947, in Oakland, CA. He grew up in Beresford, SD, and graduated from Beresford High School in 1964. He attended The University of South Dakota, graduating in 1970.
Calvin began his career in sales with International Harvester Co. in 1970 and continued in the trucking industry for over 43 years retiring with Carolina International Trucks in 2013. He had a love of the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing. He was a great husband, father, mentor and friend to all.
He was proud of and loved his family - his wife Lila; son, David (Rebecca) Milliken; daughters, Tami (Fred) Allen and Beth Hewett. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories of days gone by. His grandchildren – Ashley, Jordan, Emily, Christian, Shane, Colton, Lila, Morgan, Autumn, Savannah and Mountain.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, Corky, Leland (Nene), and nephew, Brad Klostergaard. Calvin will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends.
