COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Carl Allen McClure will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. McClure died Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Born in Waynesville, N.C., he was a son of the late Gus Allen and Marvenia Hope Jones McClure. He served as a nurse for most of his career and most recently as an instructor of nursing at Midlands Technical College.
Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, Dr. Elaine McClure; children, Hope Quilal-lan (Arren), Maj. Kevin McClure, U.S. Army, Valerie Coppinger (Jason); six grandchildren, Collin, Brennan and Finley Quilal-lan, Andrew and Nathan McClure, Ellie Cade Coppinger; siblings, Sue McCracken (Jerry), Perry McClure (Nancy), Mike McClure (Teddie), Annette Heisler (Robert), and Steve McClure (Alice).
