COLUMBIA - A private graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Jerome Connor, will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Charles passed away, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland. Born November 15, 1931, in Greenwood, S.C., he was the son of the late Joseph Connor and Ruth Riddlehoover Connor. Mr. Connor served his country proudly in the United States Army, with the Artic Test Branch from 1950-1952, before Alaska was a state. He was a business manager in the Milwaukee Braves minor league baseball organization, a sports writer in Pensacola, Florida and was retired from the U.S. Small Business Administration as an Economic Development Officer Charles is survived by his daughter, Cheri Martin (Lang); son, Kevin Connor; brothers,Hennies Connor (Nita), Ray Connor(Tots); grandchildren, Charity Rainville, Faith Callaway and two great grandsons.
