Edwin Earl Bowe MD

Memorial Service for Edwin Earl Bowe, MD., 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Union United Methodist Church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.

Dr. Bowe passed away Friday, November 27, 2015. Born in Frackville, PA, he was a son of the late Guy and Lottie Withers Bowe. Dr. Bowe was raised in PA, and attended Dickinson College until his enlistment in the US Army. He served three years in New Guinea and the Philippines and following his return, he married Mary Adella Klein. Dr. Bowe re-enrolled and graduated from Dickinson College prior to attending New York Medical College where he graduated in 1955. After completing his residency in anesthesiology, he practiced in Jefferson City, MO, Hartford, CT, Chapel Hill, NC, and Columbia, SC. Following his retirement from medicine, he began working with his son at ResourceOne Medical Billing, LLC. Dr. Bowe was a member of Union United Methodist Church and a member Ailene Leitner Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Mary A. Bowe; sons, Edwin A. Bowe, MD (Linda S. Bowe), Richard Lee Bowe, MD (Carol W. Bowe), Michael K. Bowe (Teresa G. Bowe); grandchildren, Ryan Elizabeth Bowe, Emma Katherine Bowe, Hannah Elizabeth Bowe, Edwin Alexander Bowe, and Christopher Michael Bowe. He is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church, 7582 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063.
