Gail Smith Culbertson

WHITE ROCK Funeral service for Gail Smith Culbertson, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at New Life Chapel, Heritage at Lowman. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be at 5:00 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, S.C. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family. Mrs. Culbertson passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Born in Berkley County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Percy and Blanche Smith. She was a graduate of Winthrop University and taught in the Elementary School Systems in Honea Path and Ware Shoals, S.C., Tennessee and Minnesota, retiring after 29 years. She was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Tom Culbertson; sons, Greg Culbertson (Pam) of Newberry, S.C. and Timothy Culbertson (Amanda) of Blaine, Minn.; four grandchildren; sister, Betty Jean Franklin of Culpepper, Va.; sister-in-law, Stephanie Smith of Ridgeville, S.C. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice of S.C., P.O. Box 805, White Rock, SC 29177.
