Gregory McKenna

Retired Tech Sgt. Gregory McKenna, 67, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. Born July 17, 1958, in Orange, New Jersey, Gregory grew up in Howell, New Jersey and entered the US Air Force upon high school graduation. Gregory proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant, and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1998 after many years of honorable service and leadership. He will be remembered for his practical jokes, love of sports, vast music collection, summer pool parties, and his steady commitment to family.

Surviving are his mother, Susan McKenna of Howell, NJ; his son, Dalton McKenna (Briana) of Henderson, NV; his daughter, Misti Buentello (Greg) of Altus, OK; his brothers, Bruce McKenna (Tammy) of Winnsboro, SC, and Michael McKenna (Mary) of St. Pete, FL; his sisters, Brenda Molinaro (Anthony) of Lakewood, NJ, and Sharon McKenna of Howell, NJ, his previous wife and partner, Laurie McKenna of Chapin, SC, three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, George McKenna.

The family will hold a private service at a future time.
