Jack Spencer Moore, 75, of Irmo, South Carolina, died August 12, 2024, at Lexington County Hospital. Jack was born on January 1, 1949, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Spencer Moore and Amy Rish Moore. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Moore.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Beverly Moore, and his two loving daughters: Kimberly Luthren (Taylor) of Chapin, SC and Kelly DuBose (Kyle) of Lexington, SC, and four precious grandchildren: Jack and William Luthren, and Wyatt and Sadie DuBose. He is also survived by his sister, Janet (Cissy) Stoertz.
Jack attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from Midlands Technical College with an Accounting degree. He ended his career at Research Planning, Inc. in their finance department.
Jack grew up in West Columbia, graduating from Airport High School, where he played football and ran track. He loved football and the Carolina Gamecocks, but later in life, his favorite sport was tennis, and in 2010, Jack captained a 3.0 Men's Super Seniors team that came in second in the national championship in Arizona. Jack also had a great love for music of all kinds and had 293 playlists and over 14,000 songs. With Parkinson's limiting his mobility in the last few years, he spent his time listening to music and reading. But most of all, Jack loved his role as "Dad" to his two precious daughters and "Papa" to his four grandchildren. They were the highlight of his day, and he always treasured spending time with the boys playing PS4, watching them play travel baseball and shoot baskets in the driveway, and seeing Sadie dance and be his little princess.
