

LEXINGTON, SC - A graveside service for June Rebecca Akers Tozer, 86, formerly of Marion, Ohio will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 in Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel is assisting the family. Mrs. Tozer passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Born in Boissevain, VA, June grew up in Bluefield, VA. She was a daughter of the late Harry Thomas Akers and Maude Ellen Brawley Akers. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Tozer for 54 years. Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca (James) Tozer, Patricia “Pat” (Mike) Sebring, Kim (Wayne) Blume; grandchildren, Patrick (Stephanie) Blume, Ramses Tozer, Tyler Blume, Megan (Cooper) Sebring Kennedy, Taylor Sebring, Ashton Blume; brother, Harry Thomas “Pete” (Juanita) Akers, Jr.; sisters, Marie Roman and Phyllis (Nicholas) Gianforcaro. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Akers and Betty Akers. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Akers and Charles Akers and a sister, Anne Akers Fife. June was an avid golfer, traveled the world, and was a member of Artisans Guild, AFS, and Epworth United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of McLains Business College, Bluefield, West Virginia, though her lifelong devotion was her family. “Junebug” always welcomed you into their home, just for a chat or for an extended stay. In addition to family and friends, she hosted many foreign exchange students for several years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church in Marion, Ohio, The National Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
