

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will welcome friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery. The services will also be Livestreamed and will begin at 11:55 a.m. at www.facebook.com/DunbarDutchFork
A native of Columbia, SC, Lewis was born March 10th, 1957. Lew was a beloved man, adored by so many. He was very proud of his large and ever growing family, and always made time for each and every one. He especially loved caring for and doting on his wife, Debe. He was a man anyone could count on for advice, or support, or a simple helping hand. He truly felt joy in giving.
He was devoted in his work within the Messianic Community, working hard to Create Shalom Carolina, a vision that will surely be carried on in his honor.
Lew was an inventor by trade, putting his unique way of problem solving to good use. He loved to build and create and try and make everything better, and he did. He will be sorely missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Richard and Revera Wayburn, he is predeceased by a sister, Paula Kahn and two brothers, David Kahn, Richard Wayburn, II. Those left to cherish his memory, include his wife Debe of 40 years; three daughters, Dr. Evelyn Roland (Alexander Smith), Kristyle Downs (James), Tasia Riley; a son, Steven Johnson (Robyn); thirteen grandchildren, Ava, Olson, Cort, Garrett, Madison, Alex, Olivia, Georgia, Amélie, Evan, Zane, Mallory , Franklin; five sisters, Meryl Kahn, Ann Wayburn, Becky Wayburn, Lynn Blakely (Frank), Catherine Wayburn; his sister-in-law, Caren Waybun, and many nieces and nephews that he adored.
