COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Major Duan Kenneth Sinclair, Jr., 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Major Sinclair passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was a son of Duan K. Sinclair, Sr. and Gladys Fitterer Sinclair. He was active in Eau Claire’s Navy Junior ROTC. Duan served for 20 years as Marine Major Provost Marshall until he retired. He was a show chairman for the SC Military Miniature Society and a drill team coach for the Air Force Color Guard in Irmo. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Smith Sinclair; daughters, Melinda Sinclair and Jeanine Suddeth (Chuck); grandchildren, Brandon Bickley (Emmy), Courtney Bickley, Caroline Hunter, Blake Hunter, and Honorary Grandson Carey Harris-Cade; great-grandchild, Declan Bickley; sister, Cathy S. Bowling (Jon); and nephews, Chris Bowling (Shana) and Brian Bowling (Char).
