
Milton E. Hahn, M.D., affectionately known as Doc, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. The son of Royal Hahn and Madeline Outler Hahn, he was born in New Bern, NC, and raised in NYC. After serving with the Army on Tinian in WWII, he went on to college and then served stateside as an Army Jumpmaster during the Korean War. He went on to medical school at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. After receiving his PhD and M.D, he opened his medical practice in Irvington, NJ in General Surgery and Family Medicine. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Barbara, moved to the Columbia area. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Assembly Street, Columbia, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016. Immediately following the Mass, all are invited to the Fellowship Hall for a reception and to share stories about this very special man. He lived 91 amazing years. Dr. Hahn is survived by his wife, Barbara Brazaitis Hahn; sons, Mark, Michael and Robert; daughter, Valerie Atkins (Chris); grandchildren, Anwar, Imani, Rashaad, Michael, Evan, Mark and Maggie; and nieces, nephews and cousins who loved Uncle Milton.
