Milton, age 80, was born and raised in Marion, South Carolina and lived in Columbia since 1982. He is survived by his wife Pat, sons Jason (Suzette) and Adam, brother Ralph James, and brother-in-law Matthew Payne. Grandchildren, Savannah and Matthew James. He was predeceased by his parents Ruby Lane and Victor James, sisters-in-law Glenda Payne and Ann James, and nephew Eric James. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked at the Charleston Navy Shipyard, AT&T, and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and was in the Friendship Sunday School class.
The service will be Tuesday, December 21, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, in Irmo, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 11:30 a.m. with the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Riverland Hills Baptist Church Building fund.
