

LEXINGTON - A funeral service for Roger Marion Sasser, 67, will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Sasser died Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Born in Mt. Olive, North Carolina, he was a son of Hilda Sanderson and stepson of Harold Foster. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina – Aiken where he received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Sociology. Roger served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as Senior Master Sergeant. He worked for 12 years in the Veterans Administration as a Veterans Advocate. He loved history, music, and singing. A member of Concord Baptist Church, he loved Jesus and spreading the Word.
Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Anne Marshall Sasser; sons, Philip Sasser and Aaron Sasser; daughters, Heather McBride, Michelle Sasser, and Melanie Howard; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike Sasser and Jesse Sasser; sister, Jackie Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Mark Sasser.
