Sylvia Dickerson Parker

A funeral service for Sylvia Dickerson Parker, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with burial in Cool Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parker died May 14, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Edward Dickerson and Lilian Wylie Dickerson. A graduate of Eau Claire High School, she attended Christ Central Institute. Sylvia worked as an Executive Assistant with Cooper Carry and Associates Architectural Firm. She was a member of the Ham Radio Club. Her faith in Jesus was her main focus in life. She was a teacher of the Fascinating womanhood Bible Study Class. Sylvia attended Denny Terrace Baptist Church. She would put others before herself and loved to cook.

Surviving are her son, Scott Parker (Evelyn); daughter, Deirdre Parker; grandchildren, Edward Jennings, Elizabeth Shackley (Geoff), Lilith Clary, and Parker Koepsell; brother, Wayne Dickerson (Dana); and sister, Jennie Kaderly.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald J. Parker.
