She was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina to her Mother, Doris Gore Sarvis, and her father, William James Sarvis who preceded her in death.
While we wish more than anything we could have her here with us, we have peace knowing that she is fully restored in heaven and celebrating her life with her parents whom she loved so much, Doris (Ma) and Jim (Papa).
All who knew her couldn’t help but fall in love with her kind heart and her sweet spirit. She truly embodied Jesus in that she always put others above herself and her life reflected that in so many ways.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend to so many. Her legacy is one of incredible love for Jesus, joy no matter the circumstance, and seeking to make others feel loved and valued each and every day.
One of her favorite songs she sang often was, “Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory” which she did until her very last day. She also loved the saying, “Bloom where you’re planted”, and lived this out by making the very best out of every situation.
Those left to cherish her memories: daughters
Mary E. Proctor (Brandon Wright), Sarah P. Fender (Lehe), sister Susan S. Long (Sam), granddaughter Lilly Grace Wright, and many other family members whom she loved deeply.
We invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life this Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2 PM at her home church in Columbia, SC, Ashland United Methodist Church, 2600 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
Memorials may be sent to Ashland United Methodist Church and flowers may be sent to Dunbar Funeral Home at 7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, SC 29063.
