September 26 1987 - November 13, 2021
Brandon Marshon Cox was born on September 22, 1987 to the union of Cheryl Coates and Michael C. Cox. Brandon was adopted by his Aunt Denise and raised by the Cox family. He attended Jackson Public Schools and later Da’Vinci. He received a GED. Brandon loved his job working for Christ Centered Homes. He had begun to take online classes at Capella University. Brandon enjoyed a great variety of interests which included music. He played the piano and received Superiors at piano recitals. He marched with the clarinet and saxophone for The Middle School at Parkside Band. He wrote songs, made beats and rapped. He made videos, and enjoyed debating, discussing and sharing his opinion on current issues and everything else. He loved history, trivia, guns, expensive colognes, watches and gadgets. He liked the smell of cheap cologne because they reminded him of when he was young. He took an interest in the odd, the strange, the unusual and the underdog. He was a frustrated Lions fan and an Ohio State fan, probably just to be different. Brandon was a good cook and enjoyed fine foods and drinks as well as cheap foods and drinks. He was always cooking up and concocting stuff. He always had something to talk about. He was a good son, brother, uncle and friend. Brandon was preceded in death by his daughter of just an hour Harper Amelia. He leaves to mourn his passing, his biological mother Cheryl Carpenter, his father Michael Cox, his adoptive mother Denise Cox, brothers, Michael B Cox, and Bryan S. Cox, Matthew D. and Joshua E. Green, Nathan Hurt, sisters, Cherell Hurt, Michelle Spicer, and Destiny Carpenter, a special uncle Burt Cox and a special aunt Mary Ann Cox, lots of aunts, uncles, an army of cousins, and a host of friends. The family would like thank everyone for the cards, condolences, visits, phone calls, donations and prayers. Thank you for being Brandon’s friend. May God continue to bless all of you and your families.
